Two Shell Icons

Enigmatic UK duo Two Shell are back on their Mainframe Audio label with a visceral and racing set of futuristic club tracks. Icons is an EP lit up in neon colours, swerving into digitally disembodied 00s pop energy with torn clips of vocal samples fed through glitching machines. Arcing stutters and flute flutters course unpredictably throughout the cinematic stylings of ‘Ghosts’, while the entrancing ‘Dust’ features a scrubbing bass and glassy, screen-filtered synths exploding over pumping rhythms. Sounds rise from the virtual belly of the underground in a dazzling display on ‘Memory’, dripping in emotional electronics.
